We have great water levels all season!
A hydroelectric plant, here in Collinsville, on the Farmington River has renewed water power at a 19th century dam that once fed a factory known around the world for axes, machetes and other tools.
One of the last pieces was installation of "crest gates" on the dam by the Route 179 bridge. The gates are designed to raise the river about 3 feet and maintain a steady flow of water through the power turbine but have the added benefit of enhancing kayaking and other recreation above the dam. Due to those "crest gates" we will have consistent water levels all season long!
