Evening Paddles
Paddling at sunset can be a magical experience, and it's also a great opportunity to spot wildlife that emerges at dusk! We offer extended rental hours into the evening on certain dates. You can make a reservation to rent a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and self-launch.2025 Schedule: Select a Date Below to Reserve Your Equipment

Rates (CT sales tax will be applied at check out):
- Solo Kayak - $35
- Tandem Kayak - $55
- Paddle Board - $35
- Canoe for 2 People - $55
- Canoe for 3 People - $60
- Canoe for 4 People - $65
- Self-Launch Own Boat - $5
Renters receive glow sticks, paddles, and PFDs which must be worn and securely fastened at all times. Those self-launching also receive glow sticks and are required to wear PFDs. Though our shop is located on a calm stretch of the Farmington River, paddlers must know how to swim. There is no lifeguard on duty.
Renters must be 18+, and minors 17 or under must be accompanied by someone 18+. Children ages 7 and up who are experienced swimmers may be in their own boat. Liability Waivers can be printed out or completed upon arrival.
Cancellations & Policies
Our complete policies are available in the About Us section. Cancellations must be done through the shop by calling 860-693-6977. Cancellations received with at least 48 hours notice will receive a full refund. Cancellations received with less than 48 hours notice and no-shows will receive no refund. In the event CCK cancels due to lack of enrollment, severe weather, or emergency, we will make every attempt to notify registrants in a timely fashion to reschedule or provide a full refund.

We are pleased to partner with organizations working to help protect the river we enjoy so much. Their special events provide additional opportunities to rent or self-launch a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard from our shop. Get to know their staff and volunteers and enjoy a paddle on the river!
